Based in Nice, France, this unique intensive plein air painting workshop will be accompanied by a French and English-speaking guide. In addition to Stephen's informative demonstrations and hands-on painting instruction, this two-week course will include catered meals, museum trips, guided tours to artist homes, cathedrals, and even a wine-tasting tour.
Beginning with painting sessions in Nice's Old Town, we'll be visiting several towns along the French Riviera. We'll set up our easels in the town of Grasse, the famous Bellet vineyards, and medieval villages, such as Eze, St. Paul de Vance, and La Torette Sur Loup. We'll visit Montagne St. Victoire in Aix en Provence, seen in Paintings of Cezanne, and the Palace of the Popes in Avignon. During our free weekend, you may choose to enjoy the beach, explore the Riviera, or take an optional weekend trip to Paris for an additional fee.
The following items are included in the cost of this tour:
-Professional instruction with painter Stephen Cefalo
-Plein Aire painting classes in the towns, villages and countryside of Côte d’Azur
-Comfortable shared accommodations for 14 nights on the French Riviera, either at a 3-star hotel or a conveniently located villa (should you require private accommodations, please review the “Optional Expenses” section.)
-Costs for travel by train, bus or private vehicle to the places we will be visiting each day
-French and English-speaking guide to accompany group;
-sightseeing tours and planned events as specified
-Breakfast daily
-Welcome & Departure parties; 7 paid lunches; 7 paid dinners
-Help with packing and shipping of paintings
-Departure transportation to the airport
These fees are not covered in the tour pricing, and thus are the responsibility of the tour participant:
-Airfare or travel to and from Nice
-Transportation from the Nice airport to the hotel/villa
-Meals not specified
-Excursions not specified in the Daily Events Schedule.
TOUR COST: $3,900 for the 14-day trip to Nice with shared accommodations, as described in the Tour Overview section.
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
To ensure the quality of your experience, this tour will be limited to 10 participants, so please register early to reserve your place in class. A nonrefundable deposit of $1300 must accompany your registration; the remainder of your fee must be paid by May 1, 2010. In case you must cancel your reservation, the original deposit of $1300 will not be refunded; however, any other fees paid will be refunded in full.
To register for this class, please respond to Stephen Cefalo via facebook or email. Upon receipt of your response, a registration packet will be mailed out to you. A temporary class reservation will be held in your name for 10 days, giving you time to complete the registration form and submit your deposit. Once the class has reached its maximum capacity, the names of all other responders will be placed on a waiting list in case an opportunity to include them occurs.
